Cristian Geisse

Cristian Geisse Navarro (Vicuña, Chile, 1977) is a prominent Chilean writer, researcher, and professor. Throughout his career, he has published several works that have been well received by both critics and readers. Among his most significant books are Los nortes que hay en el Norte (Cinosargo, 2014), Ñache (Bordelibre, 2015), Ricardo Nixon School (Emecé, 2015), Pobres diablos (Emecé, 2018), Catechi (Montacerdos, 2018), Sapolsky (Emecé, 2021), and Tu enfermedad será mi maestro (Random House, 2024).

In 2017, Geisse received the Best Literary Works Award from the Ministry of Culture of Chile in the unpublished short story category for his work Fue como un padre para mí. A year later, in 2018, he was awarded the prize for Best Book of Narrative by the Chilean Art Critics Circle in recognition of his collection of short stories, Pobres diablos. Cristian Geisse is also a member of the Colectivo de Escritores de Pueblos Abandonados (Writers' Collective of Abandoned Towns). His work has significantly contributed to the Chilean literary scene, addressing themes such as identity, the human mind, and the complexity of interpersonal relationships.
