Daily overdoses
(sobredosis diaria)
2020

Daily Doses are the playground where Alberto Montt has been pouring, for over a decade, all his creativity, ingenuity and love for drawing. With an admirable and acclaimed capacity for observing everyday life, in them he showcases black humor -and of various colors- with ideas that seem to emerge from everywhere. As he himself has stated, he lives paying attention to everything: "A song, a bowl of soup or the last book I read". It is, he ends, "the pleasure of pop culture Diogenes syndrome".

This compilation that Montt himself has prepared of his vignettes displays a personal and acute repertoire of anxieties and obsessions from which he usually shoots without filter, while drawing an involuntary map of the problems and ups and downs of contemporary society.

Vignettes where God and the devil make fun of us. And all of them created with that unique and very personal style that, as he himself points out, is the result of "all my incapacities".

Critics

“Montt mixes apples and oranges and doesn’t ask us to choose one of them. His books are the unusual space where opposites work together. There, the penguin and the polar bear, coming from opposite polesof the planet, find out how exciting it is to share the same bed”

—Juan VilloRo

“Really, a genius.”

—Manu Arregui Biziola
